Ramipril - Altace, drug is used for control high blood pressure.
It works in the body after interfering with angiotensin-converting
enzymes (ACE), which influence salt and water retention, to
dilate arteries, reduce blood volume, and lower blood pressure.
High blood pressure damages kidneys, which may lead to a stroke
or heart failure and Altace helps keeping the blood pressure
normal but it does not treat the blood pressure. It should be
used with caution by patients with diabetes, impaired liver or
kidney function, heart disease, scleroderma, systemic lupus
erythematosus, high potassium levels, or low white blood cell
levels.

Pregnant women should not take Ramipril, as it is harmful for
the fetus, especially in the second and third stage of
pregnancy. Ramipril have traces in breast milk so one should
avoid breastfeeding; it may be contagious for the infant but on
the other side it’s been proven safe for children. Although
Altace can be prescribed with the combination of certain
diuretics, but can have adverse reaction with such drugs. It
also may react with potassium supplements which include salt
substitutes containing potassium, lithium, aspirin and
cyclosporine.
Ramipril should not be combined with alcoholic beverages unless
approved by a doctor. Rampril is available in UK, USA, Australia
and Canada, one can buy it online or purchase it from a medical
store but this drug cannot be purchased without a registered
prescription. Altace Capsules are present in 1.25, 2.5, 5 and 10
mg. Store Altace tablets and capsules at room temperature
between 15-30°C (59-86°F).
